Herman Andersson Oy is prepared to prevent the spread of Corona virus

 Herman Andersson Oy has taken preventive actions concerning our own staff, visits and transports. We have for instance banned all business travel and don’t accept any visitors in our premises.

In order to mitigate the risk of infection, please ensure before entering the terminal that you don´t have symptoms of corona virus (cough and/or fever and/or shortness of breath). In case you have symptoms, we can’t unfortunately serve you in our terminal or port.

Our terminal is working normally. We update our contingency plan if needed and will inform our customers for any possible changes made.

The Association of Finnish Shipbrokers recommends that agents and ship brokers seek to carry out their duties in connection with a vessel’s port call other way than by physically visiting the ship.

Exposure to COVID-19 should also be avoided in this manner.

Every effort shall be made to obtain the ship ‘s and crew’ s documents and any other relevant information in electronic form. If this is not possible, the documents should be exchanged with the ship’s crew so that there is no physical meeting.

If there is a need to change documents while on board, there should be a way to do this without contact with the crew, such as a box on board. In the port, you can leave the documents in, for example, a dedicated mailbox or similar place. The Association wishes to recall that the documents may also be signed by proxy on behalf of the vessel and the master.

Agents cannot be required to perform other tasks that may involve unnecessary exposure, such as shopping, in conjunction with the crew. It is also very likely that the ship’s crew will soon be denied access to the port at all.
